All things in moderation is my motto. I don’t like to kill things, but on occasion I can see reason in doing so. In hunting/fishing, I catch my fill and stop there – and refrain from killing what I can’t eat.
That’s a good point actually, didn’t think of that.
Yeah, I don’t care either for people when they try and force you to believe what they believe. I can kind of understand why though when it comes to killing something, whether it be a fetus, or a creature..it may not be the holocaust, but of course one CAN argue that it’ll lead to the equivalent. But yeah, if you think about it humans are also legally killed under death penalty, so it evens out.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, not everyone is entitled to come knocking on your door and force it down your mouth. I appreciate people such as yourself taking a more reasonable approach to presenting their opinion. I would like to point out though, that in some conditions, even natives can reach pest status, such as kangaroos in the top end that were inside the fox fence.
Yeah, I understand. I just wanted to defend the noisy minors because I don’t want to see people thinking they all deserved to be killed and actually attempting to kill them..noisy minors are cute little birds, but moreover they are native to Australia and yeah I reckon they should be respected…lol I’m a bird lover so yeah its just a knee-jerk reaction I get. =P
That would depend a great deal on your location.
I was corrected some time ago, on my description of a picture of this particular bird. An avid birdwatcher unformed me that it was an idian mynah. I have always known them as noisy minors. At any rate this video was posted with the intent to demonstrate how birds get caught in fireplaces… repeatedly, not so much to identify the species. But I guess people are still viewing and talking, so that’s always good.
That doesn’t look like a noisy minor..looks more like the indian mynah, unless thats why you spelt it “mynah”.
For those who don’t know, Noisy Minors from my knowledge at least are not the pests, it is the Indian ones.
Unfortunately, some things are not always so black and white. However your efforts are admirable.
i am looking after a baby noisy miner right now because his mum and dad kicked him out of the nest he is so cute and i think that no 1 shoud kill any animal because they all shoud have a chance to live just like you
I’m not keen on the whole killing idea unless I have a good reason and for the most part I have better things to do than chase birds around.
But perhaps they are a bigger pest in your area than here. Mostly the magpies keep them at bay here.
Yeah.
I keep trying to hit them with a bat, i’ve gotten about 6 close swings in but i havnt hit any, I dont honestly beleive I will either
I saw 5 or 6 sparrows drive one away from the feed bin today.
Fair enough, I saw 2 of them take out a crow today
Yes well aware of that. If you read, you may have noticed I didn’t save it the second time. I gave it a fair chance, and it was stupid enough to return.
Those birds are fucking pests. You’re legally aloud to kill them because they wipe out species, I have a cockateil and every time I take it outside, they attack it, in gangs.
That was what I implied. Since fixed the problem so they can’t get down the chimney anymore. Not much else I could do really.
Well it survived ok. Though a week later I found it again. Was a little late though.
the poor thing
